Xchat is a graphical irc client with a gtk+ gui. it has a look and feel similar to amirc for the amiga. special features include the mirc extension dcc resume and mirc color, multiple server/channel windows, dialog windows, and a plugin api.
AmIRC was the core of all excellence when it came to IRC. This is why Xchat is based upon that exact client. This has made my IRC sessions still a joy to use now that I am apart from my Amiga. I just wish it was updated more often, ive given plenty ideas! :D
"If only irc was that easy to operate when it was all the rage." you name it. ah, the memories. well it is not TOO easy nowadays. I like it, works from the start thanks to default autoconnect to some linuxmint-supportchannel :)
XChat is an awesome IRC client. You can control just about everything about the look with it (through "text events"), which you can't with many other IRC clients. The only thing it can't do is run in a terminal.
