6- Change the GDM login screen wallpaper: Install then launch Ubuntu Tweak and search for "login" in the search bar then click on "login settings" then press the unlock button in the top right by the search bar. Now replace the background image with this one http://forum-windows.com/windows-8/wallpapers/rtm/wallpaper-windows-8-rtm-18.png

7- Install XBMC media center from the software manager and install MetroTV skin which you can get at from http://www.j1nx.nl/metrotv-the-new-windows8-look-alike-xbmc-skin/ then go to hot corners settings and choose custom then enter the following command at the right top cornner:

                                                         xbmc

. Now whenever you touch that corner you'll get a Windows8-like media center.

There are some people who like baby steps when moving away from Win8 (I do not like Win8 at all). So setting up something for them that looks the same but gives all the flexablity of mint MAY help.

Buddy, do you know somebody who’s leaving Windows 8 for Linux Mint because he dislikes its newfangled user interface just to revert on Linux to it?

Why would I want LM to look like the worst bastardation of G3?? Especially when I came across Mint to avoid G3. :-)
