How to Install Linux Mint 9 Isadora within Windows 7 inside

First of all,  Windows 7 have different booting if we compare them with windows XP.

So if we install Linux Mint like common Windows XP installing steps, it's not working properly due to mint4win failed to write in Windows booting configuration.

So for Windows 7, you can do this following steps :

1. Download ISO of Linux MInt 9 (Isadora)

2. After ISO downloaded, mounting that ISO file using virtual CD/DVD ROM program like Daemon Tools, etc

3. Open WIndows Explorer, go to drive that ISO mounted.

4. Find mint4win.exe and right click and choose properties

5. In Compatibility Tab, please select Operating System as Windows Vista, and Run As Administrator

6. Running mint4win.exe and install Linux Mint 9 Inside Windows 7

Note : This step is working too with Linux Mint 7 Gloria, and applicable too for WIndows Vista

Doesnt work. I know im the noob here, but, i mounted the image, clicked the demo button, and it asked me to uninstall. I'm using Mint11, not 9, but still... No option to install along-side windows, and in the normal installer, no option to shrink the windows partition.

@ Elisa and all

Please read step #2 clearly, it is written to mount iso first using Virtual CD / DVD ROM program like Daemon Tools.

And step #3 for Opening drive that ISO mounted. I didn't write to open ISO file using Windows Explorer.

red75, If you are running Windows when you start the mint4win application, then you are "inside Windows" when installing.

I've tried everything to install Linux Mint 9 inside Windows 7. I've used the CD ISO, the DVD ISO, even a flashdrive with Mint installed on it. And i've tried changing all the compatibility settings.
But whenever I run mint4win.exe, I only get two buttons, "Demo and Full Installation" and "Learn More". I've never seen the install inside Windows button, how do I get that?

Yes. This is useful, something many people would like to know. Maybe someone could fix the writing...?

Alberto, he means to go locally on your computer to directory where you can find contents of your mounted ISO. Generally, when talking about windows explorer (explorer.exe), you think of local file browsing, while internet explorer means internet browsing (iexplore.exe)

so step 3 means going to the new drive letter that is created when you mount image
