Yes, it's there for the fallback mode. If Cinnamon crashes we launch mate-panel.

I was wondering if mint-artwork-mate was supposed to be istalled on the iso by defult?

The output of the grub update goes into /var/log/live-installer-grub-output.log, on the live filesystem at the end of the installation.

I've seen that happened on one machine as well, but not on the others..

My windows installation isn't listed in grub I had to do a sudo update-grub to get it to be listed

neither is iio-sensors-proxy :)

Maybe it's looping trying to detect stuff.. I don't know yet.

Well, xserver-xorg-input-libinput isn't in Jessie, so it can't be it...

I get random freezes on one of the test machines here. I can't get access to the console though, it looks like the CPU is running 100%, I can barely move the mouse.

I wonder if it's related to libinput or iio-sensor-proxy support. Hopefully I can reproduce it post-install.
