Ok, new ISOs coming up, rejecting these ones.

live-installer now cleans the leftovers, mimes should be fixed, vbox script is silenced, new gdebi is ported and codecs no longer install totem.

I'll tackle the missing app icons after the BETA (there's a discussion about this within the Cinnamon team, we don't like the way it works basically).

I might also tackle gnome-calculator, but after the BETA.

Missing app icons aren't LMDE-specific, I see the same in Mint 18.1. Tested with mintsources, mintlocale and gnome-disks.

I get these messages in ~/.xsession-errors right after session is started:

When the installer does its cleanup, dpkg can't remove /lib/live/config/ dir as it contains some additional files (which aren't in any package - maybe they're generated during the installation):
