FWIW I know many people who kept getting spurious mouseclicks until they were told that "tap to click" is the problem [!!].
Personally I see this as such a common change it could be exposed in the mintwelcome/etc ....
kneekoo: It's Xfce's default and unfortunately not configurable afaik (you'd need to hardcode the mouse model for it to work).
Although I'm not a fan of "natural scrolling", it's disabled in Xfce - in contrast with MATE and Cinnamon. This should be consistent with the other releases.
Touchpad tap to click is disabled by default in Xfce, although it's enabled by default in Cinnamon and MATE. To make it consistent across releases, I'd say enable it in Xfce too - it's useful to have.
Touch in XFCE (testing as requested) --
does NOT seem to have the 'focus into text window behind menu' sort of issue.
Seems to have different issues instead, sometimes cannot get menu up at all, need to do something else and come back with touch, etc etc...
menu: preferences category also shows what's in system category.
