Please add to roadmap for mintupdate underpinning-changes, I really don't think user should 'authenticate' for routine updates, only actually changing config/setup, manual package installs, etc. Current arrangement is getting users to accustomed to authenticating all the time and thus less likely to notice when something unexpected/untoward happens. Flatpak updates already do not need auth.
Firefox Trouble; if you visit url directly of a jpg picture, and try to Right Click save image as (or save link as), this never works, never get popup window, no mention in "Downloads", etc...
Workaround seems to be sudo apt remove gstreamer1.0-vaapi and then you get traditional save image as. -or- do some manual "wget" of the picture.
"apt-mark showmanual" is still explicitly showing linux-image-6.8.0-51-generic manually installed (as well as associated headers and modules packages).
I think this was previously confirmed and intended to be fixed before release. In any case, so far as I can see, problem still present. Hope that helps =).
