Alien allows you to convert LSB, Red Hat, Stampede and Slackware Packages into Debian packages, which can be installed with dpkg.

It can also generate packages of any of the other formats.

This is a tool only suitable for binary packages.

WhitePhoenix...RTFM...It's called a CLI application for a reason. I can't live with out it. RedHat has some usefull little apps that we now can have thanks to Alian.

Installed it and it never showed up in the Menu or when clicking on an RPM file. A program is useless if you can’t find it or activate it.

After installing the converted files I couldn't find them plus it's cheesy. So I will definitely remove alien asap.

This tools is definitely a must have in your toolbox. Gives one flexibilty when installing packages that are not in the software center.
