Easy Effects is an advanced audio manipulation tool. It includes an equalizer, limiter, compressor and a reverberation tool, just to mention a few. To complement this there is also a built in spectrum analyzer.
Easy Effects is the successor to PulseEffects. Easy Effects only supports PipeWire's audio server. PulseAudio users should instead use PulseEffects.
Because Easy Effects uses the default PipeWire sound server it will work with most, if not all, applications you use. All supported applications are presented in the main window, where each can be enabled individually.
Besides manipulating sound output, Easy Effects is able to apply effects to an input device, such as a microphone. This is, for example, useful in audio recording, but it also works well during voice conversations.
When Easy Effects is launched it will conveniently remember the configuration used in the last session. It is also possible to save all the current settings as profiles.
I had problems with Pulse Effects on Linux 21.3 XFCE and whil trying to fix it, managed to lose all sound (rookie me). I followed the instructions here for getting rid of Pulse and installing Pipewire: https://trendoceans.com/enable-pipewire-and-disable-pulseaudio-in-ubuntu/ That got the sound back. Then, I installed Easyeffects from the Software Manager and everything is working like a dream so far.
Keep closing on almost every silences since the Linux Mint 22 upgrade. Same with the non-flatpak package.
Works perfectly. Please note that Pipewire MUST be the default audio server, and PulseAudio has been disabled. Launch at startup works perfectly for seamless control of my headset
I don't understand the hate, it says FOR PIPEWIRE - if you haven't installed it, you shouldn't be surprised that it doesn't work. I installed it because PulseAudio was too buggy for me... Works perfectly for me with Pipewire, and all the PulseAudio bugs are gone too. I'm completely satisfied with it
Easy Effects will not launch on Linux Mint 21.X since the audio system it uses is Pulse Audio NOT PipeWire which Easy Effects needs. Use Pulse Effects until Linux Mint 22 that will likely use PipeWire.
The premise is intriguing, but I can't actually evaluate it as software. I, also, am running Cinnamon 21, but although EasyEffects launches, it presents me with an Empty List rather than a list of apps to modify. I do need to reboot soon, to update the kernel, and we'll see if the reboot fixes this issue. FWIW, I did also manually install all of the dependencies listed at the wwmm/easyeffects github page.
