Another possible solution is running "sudo apt install mariadb-server --purge" after installing cqrlog. That will replace the incompatible mysql server and fixes the issue.
Don't use this version. It has a problem connecting to mysql. Go to the CQRLog web page and look for the Ubuntu PPA. That installs the correct mysql and anything else necessary. I wasted a day finding that out.
For MINT users (and probably ubuntu too) install "MySQL 5.5 client" first or you get error messages. It works great after that, wonderful logging program. thanks so much for making it! 73, Tom K2BEW
