The AusweisApp is a software, that you can install on your Computer/Smartphone/Tablet, to identify yourself online with your ID card or your electronic residence permit. The App is availible for the most used operating systems and works in all common browsers.
The AusweisApp offers you an intigrated self-assessment where you are able to view your data that is stored on the online ID.
In the app you will also find an overview with the available services, a running overview and you can manage your PIN there.

Die Installation der App alleine half nicht. Für meinen Kartenleser musste ich noch nach der Anleitung https://wiki.ubuntuusers.de/Elektronischer_Personalausweis/ vorgehen. Das war für mich ein ziemliches Gefummel.
Ich konnte mich mit der App in Elster einloggen (Smartphone als Ausweisleser). Sie hat also getan, was sie sollte.
Die App braucht noch viel Entwicklung bzw. die Dienste der Bürgerämter müssen erst einmal digital angeboten werden. Finde es trotzdem cool, dass ein Flatpak dazu gibt.
