EncFS integrates file system encryption into the Unix(TM) file system. Encrypted data is stored within the native file system, thus no fixed-size loopback image is required.

EncFS uses the FUSE kernel driver and library as a backend.

Mint 19.3-NEMO 4.4.2 all up to date. Makes encrypted copy of files/folder instead of on the fly endrypting/decrypting. Was with Magic Folder on Win, was much more stable and efficient. Saw it made encrypted file in target directory, messed up,

Itsgreat for sensitive information in a shared computer, and also if you want to keep, lets say, a cloud synced folder inside of it.

Nice. Allows me to access my encrypted Dropbox files (I also use BoxCryptor in Windows 7)
