t seems to be the best driver available for my AMD HD5500 card on 17.1, including the manually installed AMD driver. It does need the amdcccle-update Control Center installed to turn on the tear-free option.

After installing this, upon rebooting Cinnamon was unable to start and I had to boot in fallback mode. Hopefully just uninstalling will fix this.

system crashed under default drivers - This PC has an All-in-Wonder 8500DV - installed these drivers and no more crashing
