GDeskCal is a cute little eye-candy calendar for your desktop. It features transparency with smooth alpha-blending and its appearance can be changed completely by using skins.

omg! finally! no fancy gimmicks, just pick a day, write something, and forget about it, needs a whee bit of extra styling, also in mint 17, does not load into app menu, so have to tie it up to a hot corner, launcher or run from terminal

Installed it on Linux Mint 17.1 cinnamon but can't find it anywhere! App is unusable.

A nice desktop calendar, a bit like Rainlendar.
