Poor choice of Cyrillic code pages. Poor color schemes are available. Cannot hide pannels to see the dialogue with the system via command line. Cannot change the information on files and folders presented on the pannels. And so on. So the rating of Commanders is Far2l (5), Kruasader (3), Double Commander (2), GNOME Commander (1)
Missing function to automatically RENAME files while copying is target file name exists Asking for SMB module, no explanation.
GNOME Commander is the worst Linux file manager I've tried. This thing proved unfinished and very buggy. I wish that programmers would refrain from putting buttons on the interface that don't work.
Windows guy, here. Not going to lie, Windows Explorer is my fave file manager based on how the search function is seamlessly integrated. By contrast, every linux file manager that I've used (about a dozen so far today) takes you outside to do search, where you can't perform file functions on the search results, ie. rename, etc. However, gnome-commander is the one shining exception that can do what the others can't. Five stars for making me not go back to windows 10.
oldfashioned but usseful layout. user defined shortcuts, two panes for better moving between directories, good menu and remote access. plugins!
