Encryption for your cloud made easy

Cryptomator provides easy-to-use, transparent, client-side encryption for your cloud.
It protects your documents from unauthorized access and prying eyes, while you will still be able to view and edit your documents locally.
By not requiring any registration or account and performing all encryption locally, it gives you back control over your data and ensures your privacy.
Cryptomator is offered for all major platforms (including Android and iOS).

Cryptomator encrypts file contents and names using the widespread industry standard AES.
Your passphrase is protected against brute forcing attempts using scrypt.
Additionally, directory structures get obfuscated.
For more info about the Cryptomator encryption scheme, check out the online documentation.

Cryptomator is a free and open-source software licensed under the GPLv3.
This allows anyone to check our code.
Thus, it is impossible to introduce backdoors for third parties or to hide vulnerabilities, so you do not need to trust Cryptomator.
Also, vendor lock-ins are impossible.
Even if we decided to stop development: The source code is already cloned by hundreds of other developers and development can be picked up by others.

Great application, haven't noticed any bugs on newest version of linux mint. Note that you will have to adjust permissions of the flatpak if you want it to find vaults that are mounted.

Loaded fine, test file requires 1) System Password for KeyRing 2) Password for Cryptomator created/locked file and Lots of Patience! GUI interface is Glitched and goes Full Screen when trying to unlock, will not resize while blocking any open windows, such as pasword text, or system controls, places app files in the same folder as "locked/saved content". How is this secure? A accidental delete of any file (encrypted or not) renders the saved/locked file and or the app itself unreadable. Glad I used a fake test file to test this! It's hard to believe that Linux allows UN Tested and/or Junk Apps here! Deleting Cryptomator. My OS = Linux Mint 21.3 Cinnamon (Running great for years!)

I tried the AppImage from cryptomator's website and for some reason it has so many bugs, it made it unusable for me. I was going to stop the use of Cryptomator until I found this Flatbak version it has solved all bugs. I can finally use it again. Awesome!

What a nice, small and powerfull app it is. I didn't know apps like that exists. It allows you to use any cloud service without compromising your data. Small apps like this does very good job. Overall, Cryptomator delivers on its promise to provide easy-to-use file encryption while preserving security measures that will protect user privacy. I would recommend this software to anyone looking to safeguard their sensitive data from unwanted access without compromising usability.

Really like it and very handy (Nextcloud Sync etc.). But: Systray Icon is just a black square on Mint Cinnamon, Flatpak version doesn't support USB-drives and mounted partitions. Prefer the .deb file from github (mount works here). Keep up the good work.

I have just started to use it and it looks great, especially for the cloud storage where several solutions are expensive and does not guarantee a real encryption and privacy

Most people don't realize the power of this simple tool. Once you create a "vault", point your cloud sync service to the ENCRYPTED files on your hard drive, so they get synced on your favorite cloud service. *DO NOT SYNC YOUR UNENCRYPTED VIEW!!!!* You now have full end to end, zero knowledge encryption of your FREE CLOUD DRIVES! Whether or not you sync an encrypted volume to a cloud drive service, CryptoMator is great to use to create an encrypted volume for your work related files. If you use your personal computer for work for an employer, this lets you give confidence to your employer and your customers that you're protecting their proprietary and PII data AND if you leave the job, you just have 1 folder to delete. Make an encrypted volume on your work computer, sync it to a cloud drive, then sync it to your home computer, then open a decrypted view of it, and voila! You've got end to end encrypted file sharing between work and home, protecting you, your company, and your customer's data. I also use it for local backups of my password manager by exporting from it weekly into an encrypted vault.
