Organize and develop images from digital cameras

darktable manages your digital negatives in a database and lets you view them through a lighttable. It also enables you to develop raw images and enhance them in a darkroom.

Other modes besides lighttable and darkroom are a map for geotagging, tethering, print and a slideshow.

darktable supports most modern cameras' raw formats, and does all of its processing at very high precision.

DT is (my opinion) when using LINUX the best app to manage my > 100 k Photos. It's similar to NeoFinder or Lr (MacOS). All other LINUX distros I tested didn't work properly or where somehow unstable.

Excellent non-destructive photo editing software. A must-have for anyone taking pictures. There's a learnig curve, buh the online user manual is very helpful. There is currently a bug that interferes with Linux Mint going to sleep properly, so be sure to close the progrram before you put your computer to sleep. Still, that's relatively minor so I'm only taking off one star.

Darktable is great program that was using on desktop for years, but now I'm on my old Laptop which has screen just 1366x768 and this is not enough to fit darktable window. For not scallable window I reduce the score.

Darktable is both incredibly powerful and easy to use. You can make subtle improvements to your images to punch them up, or radically alter their appearance. All edits are stored in sidecar files and a databse: no changes are made to your original file.
