Hate it. Tens of turns at a time pass with no interesting decisions. Then the computer's deathball smashes into your deathball and you're either completely hosed or set for life. Combat is completely opaque and random - if the AI builds a billion cheapo ships with no armaments, your own ships will randomly prefer to waste all their shots on the fodder while the actually armed ships wipe the floor with them. I'd say "this needs work", but it's been *getting* work and I don't think it's helping.
