It's the closest experience that resemble Windows Media Player. New Linux users who have switched from Windows will find it easy to use, because of the resemblence. It might not include extra features WMP has, such as CD ripping, but the user interface is close enough that Windows refugees will likely use it.
This app depends upon Tracker to find music. You can't add this file or that – you can't even exclude this file or that. I have Tracker-miner turned off on my system because it tends to thrash my hard drives, so I'm not even able to test how this app would play my music. It might be really cool, but this kind of invasive dependency is why I left macOS and don't use Ubuntu/Snap.
