Quite possibly, one of the funnest (and paradoxically tedious) projects I've undertaken; it even works with MKV, which is good if you're ripping your DVD library. May move to the recommended install when ready (given the outdated Flatpak version), but for right now everything works fine so I'm satisfied; the Flatpak version is easy to install and a good place to practice and prototype. You may need to manually identify and modify titles with relevant data from time to time as you add them, but notwithstanding, it works and it's fairly easy to use; perfect for your own private "netflix".

Jellyfin is a media sharing server with beautiful library organization and easy to use management tools. The video player's decent. I had CPU usage spike briefly (of note, but not of concern) when transcoding for certain client devices. The flatpak provides you a nice desktop icon to click and start the server, but also puts everything in a flatpak location. No errors encountered (on Mint 22.1 Cinnamon, Flatpak version). I used the flatpak version about half a year ago, but have since moved back to the recommended install as per Jellyfin's site. I find it's easier to manage multiple services that way. If you are running into the issue where you can't browse to your preferred directory, it is probably a permissions issue (all parent folders require +x).

Best Media Management software out there (and im a lifetime subscriber to Plex) my only gripe is more with Flatpak than Jellyfin as it hasnt been updated in 6 months.

With minor tweaks, got all my saved media showing in Jellyfin. Love how it dowloads Movie poster and album covers. ❤️‍

I love it, but the APT Version is newer than the flatpak.

Genius software that offers videos steams in a network. It can automatically detect new media, order them into seasons etc. Best there is in its class.
