Peek is a simple screen recorder. It is optimized for generating animated GIFs but you can also directly record to WebM or MP4 if you prefer.

It does what it is supposed to do. A problem in all recorders is that linux mint fails to record at 30 fps. It glitches. Only when recording at 60 it records without glitches. Yet another 3rd tier OS problem, and counting.

Very simple to use utility to create animated gif images. It works great on Mint 21.

Not so practical. You can't select a speacific window or thw whole screen easily. You have to resize thw app's wondow to fit the desired area.

Webm and gif videos are very choppy and flash with random corruption on Mint 20/peek 1.5.1-1
