I prefer R Commander to the other available GUI for R, viz., Rkward. Rcmdr has a larger set of options available than does Rkward. BTW, Robert I. Kabacoff, the author of "R in Action", an excellent introduction to R, also prefers Rcmdr; in his book (p. 405) he says, "My favorite GUI for introductory statistics courses is R Commander . . . ."
