It was installed via the Software Manager without difficulty, and suppressed an ongoing annoyance when a lengthy command to my prog. is mistyped, as in "stats gen.hdro.~ for 1990-2026 yearly to HydroStats.csv" where "hdro" should be "hydro" and on retyping the whole thing I make another mistake to even more annoyance. I have added alias run='rlwrap -pYellow' to my .bashrc file since the word "run" seems unused otherwise. So far I've seen no confusion by rlwrap over distinguishing my programme's eventual prompt for the next input from intermittent output during lengthy calculations. If rlwrap were also to enable the showing of lengthy output lines without folding them at the console window width I'd be even happier. On wunduhs systems this was possible - a display window width of say 144 characters that could be dragged left or right to view parts of a large tabular layout. I'm using wunduhs XP, but alas, more modern wunduhs versions no longer offer this behaviour. Later I'm told about tmux, which can be used to reduce this problem.
