Snes9x is a portable, freeware super nintendo entertainment system (snes) emulator. it basically allows you to play most games designed for the snes and super famicom nintendo game systems on your pc or workstation; they include some real gems that were only ever released in japan.

this package contains a graphical user interface using gtk+.

It's an alright emulator, don't get me wrong, but uh, for some reason, I can't use my DS4 controller with it. Tried to map it several times, nothing. Using that Steam thing that allows for controllers like the DS4 to be used on Linux, worked fine on a GBA emulator I was using earlier.

The best SNES emulator out there. To use the newest version 1.153, look here for the debian package: https://launchpad.net/~bearoso/+archive/ppa
