Printer setup has become nearly flawless in recent linux distros. Had an odd issue with a Lexmark C543 laser printer. That printer had been virtually fault free under Mandriva, so I was surprised that it would not print test pages with any but the foomatic ppd. Eventually started testing many things and found that the printer test file for Mint (mint 15 x64 mate) was the only file to not print, including several Adobe, Lexmark and HP postscript test files. Turned out automatic install was fine -- but it won't print the Mint test page.
