weasyprint
From a technical point of view, WeasyPrint is a visual rendering engine for HTML and CSS that can export to PDF and PNG. It aims to support web standards for printing. WeasyPrint is free software made available under a BSD license.
It is based on various libraries but *not* on a full rendering engine like WebKit or Gecko. The CSS layout engine is written in Python, designed for pagination, and meant to be easy to hack on.

This software is amazing. Small footprint, it is lightweight, it can be used (imported) in Python scripts as well, it has a decent amount of tutorials and references, plus it is actively developed.
And... when you want to use it, it will produce the files, without errors, not to mention major problems (fonts and stuff, like with fpdf).
This is a very good library / script. You can count on it! :)
It is provided as a system package (of 35Mb), not as a flatpak (of at least 1Gb)

PS:
It is also available as a pip package, which means you can use it in a venv, if you know what I mean. Python is beautiful.
