The main reason of my switch to Linux is that I could modify Font DPI to my liking. I like smaller font because it gives me a more spaces, thus making my 1366x768 looks bigger. And maybe just my imagination, I notice font in XFCE are rendered more beautiful than other Desktop Environment.

To Open the font setting windows:

Application Menu > Settings > Appearance > Fonts

with these setting:

  • Default Font: Sans 9
  • Rendering:
    • Anti-aliasing enables
    • Hinting: Full
    • sub pixel: RGB
  • DPI: 85

Sometimes, I adjust the DPI between 75-85 for my convenience. If you like compact screen estate and haven't lower your DPI, just try it!
