Android OTA update

  1. Install package "android-tools-adb"
  2. On your Nexus, go to Settings > Development options and switch the toggle on. Then enable USB debugging under the "Debugging" menu group.
  3. Dowload:
  4. Plug your Nexus
  5. In Terminal enter "adb reboot recovery" and press [return]
  6. After the reboot, you will see the recovery screen (It says "no command"). Tap the [power] and [volume up] keys at the same time. A menu should pop up now.
  7. If step 6 failed, just retry until the menu pops up.
  8. Use the volume buttons to select "apply update from adb" and select it with the [power] button.
  9. Back in Terminal enter "adb sideload ", (don't forget the space after sideload) then drag the update file onto the command prompt. This will automatically insert the filename for you. Now press [return] and wait.
  10. Use the volume buttons to select "reboot system now" and select it with the [power] button.

Hi, if there is an OTA update yes, something analogous can be done.
But i dont knows if they plan an OTA update for this smartphone.
Keep us in touch if you hear something on the net!

remoulder, quit trollin. this is relevant. id like to see you spend an hour with adb and drivers using a windows 8 machine. if you dont "get" the joke, then I shall suffice only your iphone is relevant.

OP, i did this last week using fastboot the long way around... it was great fun, and made me miss the old days when it was a real project.

relevancy, my arse -- linuxmint and android go hand in hand quite nice.

@remoulder it is a tutorial on how to use a Mint computer to update Android on a Nexus device. That makes it sort of relevant.

This is not a tutorial relevant to linxmint
