Simply evoke "Display" window from "Menu > Preferences" onto the screen (and if no effect, click "apply" or tweak resolutions in order to give whatever "stimulation") and keep the window on. In case it flickers again as you move to another app or back to Desktop, evoke "Display" window again onto the forefront of the screen (from the minimized state) and repeat the procedure above.
