APTonCD application is used to make an installation CD of your Linux system with all applications and updates installed on your computer up to that moment so that you do not have to download them again when reinstalling the Linux system.

Go to Menu>Applications>Administration>APTonCD. Click on Create and then Burn. Choose the location for saving the aptoncd-year/month/day.iso file, name it and make sure the meta-package option is selected.

To Restore from a USB (if you saved the aptoncd.iso file on it)

Go to Menu>Applications>Administration>APTonCD. Click on Restore button and then on Load button. Browse for the aptoncd-year/month/day.iso file, select it and then click on Restore again. The .deb packages will be copied to /var/cache/apt/archives. Now you can install them runing this command in a Terminal:

sudo dpkg -i /var/cache/apt/archives/*.deb

livram79...

Just followed your clear instructions to save my aptoncd.iso file onto a USB flashdrive. My current /var/cache/apt/archives folder is already filled with .deb files. Does running the terminal command

sudo dpkg -i /var/cache/apt/archives/*.deb

remove and replace archives folder content before restoring?

Thanks in advance for your answer.
