To make Minecraft run in Firefox 3.6 on Mint 10

Download Minecraft.jar and place it in your home directory.

Remove IceTea plugin, install sun-java6-plugin then restart your browser.

Run with

java -cp Minecraft.jar net.minecraft.LauncherFrame

If you run into out of memory errors, try launching it with

java -Xmx1024M -Xms512M -cp Minecraft.jar net.minecraft.LauncherFrame

If you wish to run Minecraft.jar from the GUI, first make it executable then right click and select Open With Sun Java 6 Runtime.

I have not tried this on mint 11 so can't comment on how firefox 4 will behave.
