4/26/14 - Newbie to Linux. Need lots of HELP to see if I can remove the MS handcuffs.

I still like Edlin :o).  Well, I actually I still use some .BAT files for backups.

Personal info: Live in the sticks in upstate NY;  X- Navy sub service; Worked in technical areas since the early 60's; Retired now and brain dead to the newer technology. I admit, I do have a Tracphone.

Somehow, I have managed to set this PC up as a Duel-Boot, Win  XP and Linux Mint.  Still in a 'Test' phase.

Final note; Please bear with me while I try to learn.
