Hi there I'm Casper. I've been tinkering and trying to getting intregrated to a Linux OS for Several years now. I started off trying to take a inally course at my local community college, but with my issue of lack of focus and being more of a hands-on learner that didnt last long. I held on to the Linux Sys Adim book that came with the class, it came with a Fedora 20 Desktop live cd (didnt like the fell of Fedora very much). I stepped away from that for a yaer or two and focused on improving my MS sys admin skills. Finally I came back to tinkering with Linux systems, this time I ran Ubuntu (I do not recall which version, it may have been 12 or 14, it was runnig with the Unity desktop). I found Ubuntu a much more comfortable system then the Fedora. At this point I really started digging around into the vast sea of knowledge and help and began learnign the fundamentals of Linux filesystems structure and managment. I still had not yet made a full dive into the Linux world and spent the next couple of years in an on and off learning and tinkering process.

Present day 05/17/2017; I have currently spent the last few months running LinuxMint 18 Cinnamon, Mate, and xfce in a VM on my Windows desktop/ my gaming & media rig. I had come to really enjoy Linux Mint and running on the Mint xfce desktop, so I dug through my shed looking for one my old laptops that was still in one piece and functional(atleast for the most part). I found an Acer Aspire 3000, with a AMD Sempron 3100+ 1800mhz single core cpu, 768mb ddr ram, and 60GB hdd. It came with WinXP originally on it, upgraded it to Win7. The system became buggy and very bogged down doing so, which is why it went into storage. I wiped the sytem and installed Linux Mint 17.1 Rebecca xfce. I gave this old laptop pc new life. I now spend 95% of my time on this old Acer and only 5% on my $1000+ gaming/media rig(which is still running Win7, mostly for easier computing use for my gf and her son).

I am seeking to become a well skilled and knowlegable Linux Sys Admin, as well as well skilled in several programming languages. I am currently learning Python . Once I've become well versed in Python I will try to add to my skill set: JavaScript, Html, and maybe Ruby, then finally C++ (These are just the once I wish to become well versed in, I'm sure I will get into others further down the line.

To be continued...
