Drake Steele, old geek and otaku. My interests include art, singing, writing, gaming, roleplaying, graphic design, music composition, voice acting, sci-fi and fantasy, and tech of all kinds.  I'm a bit of a goofball, though age had stolen some of my inner child, I still love a good sense of humor, and try to maintain my own. My twitter is @drakesteele, and I welcome friendly interaction!

On to my computer geek cred:

Been playing with computers since the Timex-Sinclair !000, Commodore PET, Tandy COCO 2, and PCjr, and worked my way up the Commodore line thru the Amiga, Apple series to Mac in school, various networks and a VAX 1180 in college, and am an AMD fan in modern PCs - so worked my way thru the gauntlet of OSes and architectures. Used to program until college training in OOC killed the joys of my early days of BASIC spaghetti coding...

Gamer cred:

Been playing games since our PONG unit with skeet light gun when I was five, got our Atari 2600 when I was seven and by age 10 we had a collection of games on burned eeproms with a zif-socketed cartridge we plugged them into. So yeah, dad was a pirate from the word go.  So I was raised to admire freedom and sharing of info. That said - got my C64 in 82 and collected all I could, rented the NES every couple weekends with a few games, got and loved both the Turbographx--16 and Sega Genesis, hung out in arcades til they started to go away, and the Amiga's gaming was GLORIOUS... then got my own PC in 2001 with a Voodoo Banshee and 3D gaming and emulated classics became my thing. w00t. Huge fan of Fallout from the DOS originals, Elder Scrolls since Morrowind, and now love most Open World titles from Witcher to GTA and more. XD
