tomboy-ng "Why did you have to ruin Tomboy Notes by making this awful mess? - Text editing works differently from every other text editor: - Undo fails to undo the edits exactly: text is lost and garbled. - Every edit causes a scrolldown so that the cursor is at the top of the window. This makes the beginning of the chapter being written to go out of view. This feature or bug doesn't work in every note, only some. - Search (Ctrl-F) doesn't proceed to next by pressing enter. - Doesn't save which notes are open unless you quit manually. Rebooting the operating system restores the notes that were open last time manual quit was used. - Creating a new note title from selected text doesn't always make the selection a link to the new note like it's supposed to. - On the last line of a note, arrow down doesn't jump to the end of line like in every other editor. - Cursor placement by mouse works wrong: it always goes to the left side of the character being clicked on, even when pointing at the right edge where every other editor puts the cursor to the right side. - Triple clicking a sentence doesn't select it, it selects only a word because a triple click contains a double click. - Ctrl-modified arrow key navigation and editing work inconsistently. For example, Ctrl-backspace does nothing, unlike every other text editor. - Tabs (indentation) are four spaces which don't work like tabs used to in Tomboy Notes. Old notes from Tomboy Notes with tabs are shown broken, not with 1 tab = 4 spaces, but less. Tabs are wider in bold. - After installing this to Mint 22.1, typing doesn't work at all, you have to write somewhere else and paste by mouse because Ctrl-V doesn't work." |
