Im an archaeologist by profession.

well used to PCs- probably what you folks would call a power user but new to linux....I am newly venturing into the world of Linux and what a minty breath of fresh air it is! 
...Update- loving Katia 64...   When am feeling brave will proabbly move to the debian addition. 

Update 2: Just Installed LMDE XFCE (32bit) on my Netbook  Running fine!  Still got LM11x 64 Gnome on my main computer.

Update 3:  have LXDE version on my 3rd pc
