I am disabled and retired and live in central Illinois, USA.  

I enjoy messing with computers and just finished a complete rebuild of this laptop that hat stoped working. I like the machine and could not afford a new machine. I was able to find new and tested used parts to replace everything but the display and keyboard.

I am just getting into Linux and after some research decided to use Mint.  So far so good.  I have a lot to learn, but Linux is so much better than Windows except in the availability of some kinds of software. My wife is an avid seamstress and loves her electronic embroyery machines.  The designs and the supporting software and hardware are not compatable with Linux.
