I have been into computers since the '70's.  Worked as programmer for a couple of years - pre OOP.   I have used quite a few different systems and OSs.  DOS, Xenix,VAX/VMS, Win 3.1 through 8.  I have only been using linux for the last couple of years and still have a lot to learn.  Started with Opensuse, then tried Gentoo, Red Hat (found an old CD), and now - Mint.

Mint is going to give Linux the boost in popularity that it deserves.  Where I live, if it's not Windows, then people are not interested.  My hobby is fixing up laptops and cell phones to give them a new life.  I have had some success with recommending linux, but most people are biased.   They would rather put up with a slow box with an old copy of Windows (XP home) than try something new.  But with Mint, the install and maintenace are so trouble free, that I can make a good case for it.  In a couple of instances, where I set up a dual boot with windows, I discovered a month later that the owner had hardly used the windows partition.

Keep up the good work folks.
