Was a maths teacher, systems engineer, freelance software engineer. Was a member of Mensa for 1 year. 3 degrees, 3 languages (Modern Scots, Esperanto and French). Worked in England, Wales, Northern Ireland, Scotland, France, Holland and Nigeria. Retired software engineer, but still going strong.

Currently learning Common Lisp. For many years, used Debian GNU/Linux, but lately switched to Linux Mint (Cinnamon). During 18 years, tried unsuccessfully to rescuscitate Algol 68. Spent thousands of hours on that. Now, with Common Lisp, maybe I can create lots of local software.

I like classical music, traditional jazz and some reggae. I reside in Northern Scotland.
