Catfish is a handy file searching tool for Linux and UNIX. The interface is intentionally lightweight and simple, using only Gtk+3. You can configure it to your needs by using several command line options.

Catfish no longer works properly in Linuxmint 21. It still searches but you can't view the data as usual in the file manager. If you start the program in the shell, error messages regarding the file manager appear.

Searches don't always work (e.g., board_scene) when it is clearly present in one of the files in the referenced folder. I had to first turn on

Extremely useful. It works just like Everything on Windows. My recommendation would be to always search through the File System to find what you're looking for.

Seems to work very well. I wish it had an option to match to a whole word only, so when you search for "DNA" it won't match to other things like "EDNA"

I have been a fan for more than a year. Enter parts of filename in almost any order and it finds it almost instantly! No need to go to command line in my experience.

Hard to find. Tried to search in all of my file system, took a fatal error. Seems I didn't use it, correctly or it has bugs. Anyway, if it's hard to use, check the interface and make it easy to use, if it has bugs, fix it. I know debugging is a very very hard. But it needs.
