This package dont work properly. It is broken. You should install with oficial installer to make PhpStorm work propertly
I'm very happy with the original version from JetBrains website since many years and already made use of a lot of advanced functionallity of it, but this very version/installer/wrapper from this store is unfortunately broken. You are restricted, in example you don't see the file system as it is. As a beginner you may like to start with other - free - applications. As an expert working in complex environments this may increase your productivity... in the original version, so not this one...
Tested in the free version. Not impressed with the use. display and help functions.
"flatpack" encapsulation causes problems if you want to take full advantage of phpstorm (e.g. docker, php integration.. etc)
You'll likely run into problems using this wrapper. I spent hours to figure out why I couldn't connect to the docker daemon. Turns out the flatpak wrapper prevents access. After reinstalling PHPStorm via JetBrains Toolbox App (recommended), it worked fine.
There is a serious flaw in this version op PHPstorm. You don't see the file system as it is. Therefore you cannot see any symlinks or mounted drives. It is better to install the version from JetBrains' site.
This comes in a some kind of virtualized environment I suppose. As a result all file/folder dialogs in this PhpStorm instance doesn't reflect the actual filesystem but rather some kind of its own, except for home directory. So if you're having your projects in lest say /var/www/ then you will not be able to find that directory at all while creating a new project with this wrapper (spent almost a day figuring this out). Not to say that it comes with approx 3Gb of dependencies whereas the original PhpStorm is less than a 500Mb.
Great IDE for developing PHP and related software, Laravel is supported right out of the box.
