This has been extremely helpful to connect to non-tech-savvy owners' machines.

The user interface is good and the first time I used it, I was impressed! I thought this would be my remote desktop moving forward. Unfortunately, it went downhill from there. The reliability and sluggishness has become frustrating to use and I've ufortunately gone back to TeamViewer. I hate giving any open source software a less than great review because I appreciate those guys for their talent and generosity. I hope RustDesk can figure out the performance woes because the UI is very good and I would love to make this my daily driver since open source has always been my preference. I will certainly change my rating if the performance improves.

So far I've had a very good experience with RustDesk. It installs practically immediately and lets a remote agent connect without issue. I've used it on Windows and Linux (Mint obviously) without issue. If you need to connect to someone else to provide support, you need to sign in, but it makes this very easy by integrating with Google and Microsoft sign-in, as well as the option of creating your own account with them. I daresay that it's competitive with Teamviewer. It appears that it also prevents the remote support person from interacting with the RustDesk client itself, so they can't change the remote user's RustDesk settings. That seems like a prudent security measure.
