Liri Calculator is a Material Design application that solves mathematical equations.

At first it appears to be a simple calculator with only basic arithmetic operations. However it features a flexible expression parser with support for symbolic computation, a large set of built-in functions and constants and works with different data types like numbers, big numbers, complex numbers, fractions, units and matrices.

I install Liri Calculator on every Linux system I use because it does something that no other calculator (I've found yet) does...it displays a rolling total of your calculations as you type. I'm sure there's a proper term for that display function, but I don't know what it is. I first ran into that on an Android calculator app called Calcu several years ago, and I really like it because you never really have to hit the "=" key. You always see your total as you type. This alone earned it the five-star, and if there was a reason for me to drop my rating it would be that Liri Calculator is only available as a flatpak, when the actual app is very, very small. The developers only package it for Arch and Fedora though, with no deb package available. I'm a middling Linux user with a lot of disk space, so I don't build the package. I just install the flatpak, but the huge size is a downvote.
