Jstest-gtk is a simple graphical joystick tester. It provides a list of attached joysticks, and for each one can display which buttons and axes are pressed, remap axes and buttons, and calibrate the device.

Even when your joystick is working mostly fine, you might want to give it a try, as the calibration lets you get rid of overlarge default deadzones that many joysticks use and which are a noticeable problem in some games.

Installing the joystick package in addition to this one will allow you to store your calibration settings and mappings and have the automatically restored.

I would give 5 star if profile was saved automatically. Problem is known and there is a workaround described at http://askubuntu.com/questions/421822/not-saving-profile

Works fine with my joysticks but it's a bit confusing that buttons start counting at zero. All the numbers on the stick doesn't match this way. :-/

Does do the job it says. Gives you a basic GUI to configure you joystick if you need it. Works fine no conflicts. Tried a couble of Joy's to see and worked on both. Good Job!

Does what it says, my only wish would be able to program the mouse to joystick. But I'm happy with this program
