KeePassX is a free/open-source password manager or safe which helps you to manage your passwords in a secure way. You can put all your passwords in one database, which is locked with one master key or a key-disk. So you only have to remember one single master password or insert the key-disk to unlock the whole database. The databases are encrypted using the algorithms AES or Twofish.

In contrast to KeePassXC (package keepassxc), the development pace of KeePassX has slowed down. It has less features, and uses an outdated version of the Qt widget. If you do not know whether you should install keepassx or keepassxc, install keepassxc instead!

Excellent. Best of the KeePass family. The GUI is very useable unlike the other versions.

It's not as nice as the Windows version of Keepass 2. It works well enough, but I suggest you try one of the password managers that others suggest. This is open-source but hasn't been updated since 2016.

The last update was pushed in 2016. Use KeePassXC or Keepass2

This processes passwords faster than the .NET KeePass2, so you can have your transform count set to something that offers real securty. However every other feature is less refined than in KeePass2. Password generation doesn't let you specify your own character set, there is no visual indication of when the clipboard will be cleared, advanced properties do not have drop-down select, any many other features are just far more basic.

Great software, but it should allow for multiple passwords because there are some websites (alternatives to gmail and others) that require more than 1 password. Also a regular update would be welcome.

Much better than KeePass2. It can open/use existing KeePass2 databases and works great in combination with Keepass2Android app on my phone.
