MS is dropping MSN and migrating all accounts to Skype so all our messenger alternatives are a dying race. Install Skype and wait for a Skype compatible GPL program.
A little to complicate for my taste. A little bit to many options that I really do not have need for. Works fine though.
Supports many protocols. Some more settings about emoticons and interface would be great. But I think it's the best chat client.
A lot of features, but KMess is better if you only use MSN for chatting. Also their homepage @ http://kopete.kde.org isn't updated enough. Still a great KDE Chat Client. "Supports AIM, ICQ, Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo, Jabber, Gadu-Gadu, Novell GroupWise Messenger, and more"
This is probably the best all in one messenger for linux but the only thing that would be nice for it would be facebook and myspace chat
