As much as I love Jellyfin (and I've had a blast making my own server with it), I've had a checkered history with the Linux client app; most times it worked, but sometimes it didn't and was a pain to start up, especially if the server IP changes. IMO, you'll have better luck running it in a web browser (and there's almost no difference between them) or on the official Roku app.

There is an issue with the desktop client in Linux Mint 23. If for some reason your router assigns a new local IP to your server computer (I fixed that and made it permanent), the client will start and have an eternal spinning hamster wheel. This does not happen on Android or Roku which both bring up a screen that allows you to change server addresses. I don't know about the Windows Client or IOS. PC version also crashes periodically, though not frequently.

Need to reinstall the app every time I reboot the system, because it crashes right after I open it if not.
