Flatpak version is the newest one indeed, but when I download an app, first thing I'm looking for is dark theme, white color hurts my eyes at night. Sadly, Okular's Flatpak version doesn't have a dark theme for Mint (tried with Adwaita, Adapta theme from Software Center and Mint's default dark theme). Because of that, I prefer to use outdated version, at least it has dark theme. Update: I found a solution for making Okular follow system's dark theme. Check "u/TheEvilSkely"s post called "Flatpak now supports Qt theming with Kvantum!" on Reddit.

Okular is my favourite PDF viewer. You should use this Flatpak version since the other one is outdated
