Ksnip is a Qt based cross-platform screenshot tool that provides many annotation features for your screenshots.
Features:
Sadly this great tool don't work in LM Cinnamon, the app can't minimize in toolbar or use shortcut from keyboard.
This is the closest thing to Snagit that I can find for linux. LarryN46 said, "Couldn't get hot keys to work. Couldn't take a screenshot of dropdown menu. No delay-screenshot option." and he is wrong about all of them. You can set a delay and with the delay set you can open a context menu that will show up in the screenshot. The global hotkeys are available in the editor under "Options | Settings | Hotkeys". By default it's ctrl_shift_r for the rectangle. The downside is that the hotkey won't work unless KSnip is active, which is a bit if a drag and does need to be fixed. KSnip should have CLI that I can use to set up a keyboard hotkey chord so that I can launch and take a screenshot without having to worry about the running status of it.
Muy bun programa, pero la version en Linux Mint 20.2 es la 1.8.2 y en la web oficial ya van por la 1.9.1...

why is it 2 gigabytes in size!?!?!? shutter is better, should be installed by default. ppa is available here : https://www.linuxuprising.com/2018/10/shutter-removed-from-ubuntu-1810-and.html
Shutter offers the same functionnalities but with the possibility to take a screenshot of an entire webpage.
I'm actually surprised it doesn't have any reviews. This is exactly what I needed, easy to use, basic edit options. A great replacement for Greenshot.
