PulseAudio, previously known as Polypaudio, is a sound server for POSIX and WIN32 systems. It is a drop in replacement for the ESD sound server with much better latency, mixing/re-sampling quality and overall architecture.

This module enables PulseAudio to store additional configuration in GConf.

The module is called module-gconf.

This module is necessary for package 'paprefs' to install. But I suppose it is also the reason for most of paprefs not working for me. The reason is: This is a 'gconf' (i.e. GNOME 2 / MATE) aimed module, and so probably doesn't integrate with Cinnamon. Ok, ok: I *am* just guessing here, but it sort of makes sense.
